Naples – The mobility plan for the 2025/2026 Christmas holidays has been officially announced. The Neapolitan Mobility Company (ANM) has released the detailed timetable for public transportation in the shadow of Vesuvius for the key days of Christmas and New Year's Eve. The most anticipated news concerns New Year's Eve: non-stop service has been confirmed for Metro Line 1 and the Centrale and Chiaia funiculars, ensuring continuous mobility for the festivities in the square.
"The women and men of ANM will be at the service of tourists and residents, allowing them to fully enjoy the Christmas holidays in our city," reads a statement from the company. This plan was conceived not only for logistics, but with a specific goal: "to experience the Neapolitan capital in an environmentally and socially sustainable way."

Metro Line 1: timetables
The backbone of city transport is expected to have early closures on New Year's Eve and extended night closures on New Year's Eve.
December 24: Early closing at 20:00 PM. The last bus from Centro Direzionale will depart at 19:29 PM, and from Piscinola at 19:09 PM.
December 25th and January 1st: Split service with a lunch break. Closing at 13:30 PM (last services: Piscinola 12:29 PM, Centro Direzionale 12:59 PM). Reopening in the afternoon with the first service from Piscinola at 17:07 PM and from Centro Direzionale at 17:37 PM. The evening closing time is set at 22:30 PM (from Piscinola) and 23:00 PM (from Centro Direzionale).
December 31st: Non-Stop service all night.
Metro Line 6
December 24: Service active until 20:00 pm (last services: Mostra 19:10 pm, Municipio 19:30 pm).
December 25: Closes at 13:30 PM (last departures: Mostra 13:06 PM, Municipio 13:12 PM). Reopens in the afternoon at 16:36 PM from Mostra and 16:42 PM from Municipio. Evening closing around 20:30 PM.
The Funiculars
Differentiated attention among the facilities for the New Year's Eve.
December 24: All lifts close at 20:00 pm (last ride 19:40 pm).
December 25th and January 1st:
Mergellina and Montesanto: Closed at 13:00 PM. Reopening at 16:30 PM, closing at 22:30 PM.
Centrale and Chiaia: Stop at 13:00 PM (last service at 12:40 PM). Reopening at 16:30 PM with an extended night service until 00:30 AM.
31 December:
Montesanto and Mergellina: Last bus at 19:40 PM.
Centrale and Chiaia: Non-Stop service.
Bus, Tram and Alibus
Surface transport will follow specific timetable reductions, with night services suspended on holidays.
December 24th and 31st: Buses and trolleybuses will end service by 20:00 PM (last departure from the terminus at 19:00 PM). Night services are suspended. The Alibus service ends at 20:00 PM on December 24th, while it operates continuously on the 31st.
December 25th and January 1st: Stop by 13:30 PM. Resumption in the afternoon from 16:00 PM only on selected lines (including 128, 140, 181, R2, R5, C63, and several other main lines). Alibus operates continuously.
Elevators and Parking
Important news for the Monte Echia lift, which will remain open non-stop on December 31st starting at 7:00 a.m. The other lifts (Chiaia, Sanità) will reopen in the afternoon until midnight on the 25th and 1st.
On the parking front, for New Year's Eve (December 31st) the main interchange car parks will be open No Stop: Brin, Chiaiano, Scampia, Colli Aminei, Frullone and Centro Direzionale (the latter until 8:00 on January 1st).
