Clinical Engineering, demonstrating the strategic value of the investment.
The new digital PET scanner represents a technological first in Central and Southern Italy in terms of features and performance. This represents a significant milestone not only for the hospital, but for the entire regional healthcare network, which will now be able to rely on a highly precise diagnostic tool capable of significantly impacting clinical effectiveness and treatment pathways.

Digital technology allows for extremely high-resolution images, significantly reducing both acquisition times and the dose of radiopharmaceutical administered to the patient. This dual benefit translates into greater safety, improved patient comfort, and enhanced diagnostic capabilities, particularly in oncology and neurological care. With this equipment, the Nuclear Medicine Unit at Ospedale del Mare strengthens its role as a benchmark for highly specialized healthcare in Campania.
