In the Pianura neighborhood of Naples, security concerns are growing over a residential building on Via dell'Avvenire. Structural failures and deep internal cracks are threatening the building's stability, with residents reporting that the emergency was triggered by previous work on gas pipes. The excavations left open and the accumulation of water have caused infiltrations that have caused the road surface to collapse, opening a sinkhole in the surrounding soil.
Francesco Emilio Borrelli, a member of Parliament for the Green-Left Alliance, intervened urgently to bring the gravity of the situation to the attention of the authorities. "We urge the relevant authorities—the City of Naples, service providers, and the Civil Engineering Department—to intervene immediately to secure the area, closing the excavations and plugging the leaks," he stated.
The MP emphasized the urgency of structural checks on the building to protect public safety and prevent potential tragedies. "It is a priority to ensure that the citizens of Pianura can return to their homes safely," Borrelli added, reiterating the need for rapid and coordinated intervention by all relevant agencies.

The situation in Pianura is worrying. I heard cracks in the building and wonder if measures have already been taken to fix the problem. The gas works have certainly contributed to this safety issue.
