A second person was injured in the afternoon of gunfire that marked Christmas Eve in Pomigliano d'Arco. The Carabinieri, alerted by emergency services, responded yesterday to the emergency room of the Ospedale del Mare to assess a 47-year-old man who had been hospitalized with a gunshot wound.
According to initial reports, the injury occurred on the evening of December 24th, around 7:30 PM. The man, who was walking with his partner in Piazza Giovanni Leone, was struck by a stray small-caliber bullet that struck him in the buttock. Despite the wound, the 47-year-old did not go to the hospital until the following day. His condition is not serious and his life is not in danger.
The investigation is now expanding to determine any possible connections to another incident that occurred a few hours earlier, also in Pomigliano d'Arco. A 7-year-old boy was grazed in the shoulder by a stray bullet while he was with his parents in Piazza Castello. Fortunately, that incident also resulted in no serious injuries.
The Carabinieri are examining images from public and private video surveillance cameras in the affected areas, with the aim of establishing whether the two incidents are linked to the same weapon or the same perpetrators.
An afternoon that was supposed to be a celebration, but instead risked turning tragic, drawing attention to an increasingly alarming phenomenon: the casual use of firearms, often employed as a symbol of power and status, with potentially lethal consequences for innocent bystanders.

It's truly incredible that on a festive afternoon like Christmas, two people were injured by stray bullets. It's unbelievable how people can use weapons so irresponsibly. Let's hope the investigation leads to something.
