Pomigliano – The racket's grip tightened around a local victim with a ferocity worthy of the worst crime chronicles. Two people were arrested at dawn this morning, following a precautionary detention order executed by the Carabinieri of the Pomigliano d'Arco station. The charge is serious: attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods.

The escalation of violence

The investigation, coordinated by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), brought to light a month of terror. In February 2025, the suspects allegedly targeted the victim with a specific strategy:

The request: 15.000 euros in cash

The intimidating force: To break the target's resistance, the two would have explicitly evoked the control of the Camorra clans that are hegemonic in the territory.

The siege: The threats and violent acts were not limited to casual encounters, but continued with raids on the victim's home and workplace, often in front of witnesses, to maximize the power of intimidation.

The provision

The investigating judge of the Court of Naples, at the request of the District Attorney's Office, has ordered the maximum precautionary measure to curb the dangerous nature of the conduct. The suspects have been transferred to prison, while the investigation continues to consolidate the evidence.

The article describes a very serious situation in Pomigliano d'Arco. I believe the authorities should do more to stop the racket and protect the victims. Violence should never be tolerated. I hope there are more effective measures.
