Naples – Campania is preparing for a long weekend of tourism and economic growth in honor of the Immaculate Conception. According to estimates by the Confesercenti Campania research center, approximately 430 tourists are expected from December 6th to 8th, with over 200 in Naples alone. This influx is expected to generate a total turnover of approximately €215 million, including direct revenue from accommodation facilities and related activities for bars, restaurants, retail, artisans, and services.
"Extending the weekend to three nights and four days will allow our hotel and commercial businesses to benefit from significant revenue," commented Vincenzo Schiavo, president of Confesercenti Campania. "Naples remains the main destination, with an estimated turnover of €85 million for accommodations and approximately €40 million for related industries." Forecasts indicate an average occupancy rate of 78%, with higher peaks in the towns on the Amalfi Coast and in the capital. The average tourist spending is estimated at €65 per night for accommodation and €50 per capita for other expenses, including shopping and dining.
Confesercenti emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards of hospitality and services: the quality of tourism will be crucial to best manage the expected sell-out, looking ahead to the Christmas and New Year's holidays. The Immaculate Conception long weekend thus becomes the first test of a long high season that, according to forecasts, will continue unabated.
