Pintecagnano – The fight against drug dealing in the province south of Salerno continues, just before the New Year's Eve celebrations.
In the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, December 30, State Police officers from the Battipaglia Police Station completed a targeted operation in the municipality of Pontecagnano Faiano, culminating in the arrest of a man.
The search
The police focused their attention on a Moroccan national, already under observation for suspicious activity in the area. The raid began at dawn: officers first stopped the man for a personal search, then extended the search to his home. Despite attempts to evade the search, the investigative unit conducted a thorough search of the premises.
The hiding place
The police's suspicions were confirmed in the bedroom. Carefully hidden under the mattress, they found 30 grams of cocaine and 4 grams of hashish. The amount of cocaine seized, if released on the retail market during the New Year's holidays, would have fetched several thousand euros.
The man was immediately taken to the police station and, after completing the necessary formalities, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics. The drugs were seized and will be analyzed in the coming days. This operation is part of a broader territorial control plan implemented by the Salerno Police Headquarters to ensure security during the last week of the year.

This police operation in Pontecagnano seems significant, but I wonder if there are enough resources to combat drug dealing throughout the province. Law enforcement is doing a good job.
