Fear erupted this late afternoon in Pozzuoli, where a man fell several meters from the Sandro Pertini seafront promenade, landing on the cliffs below. According to initial reports, the fall may have been caused by a sudden illness.
Passersby who witnessed the scene raised the alarm and immediately contacted emergency services. Firefighters arrived on the scene and began recovery operations using a ladder truck and the SAF unit, which specializes in speleological, alpine, and river rescue operations.
The man, injured in the fall, was reached and brought to safety by rescuers. His condition has not been released, but prompt intervention prevented more serious injuries.
