Naples – An outburst of jealousy transformed a quiet evening in Val Fortore, in the province of Benevento, into a scene straight out of a thriller. Around 9:44 a.m. on Friday, December 5, a man over 30, already with a criminal record, broke into his ex-partner's home armed with a wooden pole.
After breaking down the door, the attacker attacked the woman and her current partner, also over 30, sparking a violent fight. Not content with that, he even smashed the windows of his "rival's" car, causing panic and destruction.
Carabinieri from the Montefalcone di Val Fortore station, coordinated by the San Bartolomeo in Galdo Police Company, responded promptly. The man was arrested on charges of assault and trespassing. The pole used in the break-in was seized.
All those involved—the attacker, the victim, and his companion—received only minor bruises and injuries, which were treated by paramedics alerted to the scene by the military. The arrested man was transferred directly to the Benevento prison, where he will await trial.
An episode that rekindles the spotlight on domestic violence and the devastating effects of pathological jealousy, with law enforcement confirming: "Rapid intervention saves lives."

This is very worrying news. Jealousy leads to situations that shouldn't happen. It's sad to see how people can get to this point. We hope more interventions are in place to prevent similar incidents in the future.
