Naples – The Naples Prosecutor's Office is preparing for a new season of battles against organized crime: nine new magistrates began their duties today, with another five due to arrive in the coming days.

A real "gift package" for Chief Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, who announced the arrival of 14 new deputies and assistants, essential to strengthening investigative and judicial action in the city most exposed to the Camorra phenomenon.

New faces, old battles

During the press conference held to outline the details of the Carabinieri's latest anti-Camorra operation against the Licciardi clan, Gratteri emphasized the importance of strengthening the investigations department. "Today we sworn in nine new magistrates," he stated, "and five more will arrive in the coming days. This will allow us to more effectively address the most complex investigations and ensure a more rapid response to the city's needs."

Among the new hires, three names already recognized for their commitment to fighting crime stand out: Enrica Parascandolo, Giulio Vanacore, and Alfredo Gagliardi, who are moving directly to the District Anti-Mafia Directorate. This strategic move aims to strengthen the most sensitive and challenging area of the Prosecutor's Office.

Numbers and perspectives

With the arrival of the new magistrates, the Naples Prosecutor's Office is nearing full staffing: only seven deputies and one deputy prosecutor are currently missing. The goal is to reach 102 deputy prosecutors and nine deputies, a structure that will allow for better management of the caseload and greater determination in tackling the most complex investigations.
