In a statement, the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office clarified and extended the forced eviction of the social housing complex on Via MB Gargiulo in Sant'Agnello. It's not suspended, but rather postponed for a full year. The order, issued on October 20, 2025, ordered the occupants to vacate the 53 residential units, 64 garages, 12 motorcycle parking spaces, 13 cellars, storage room, rehabilitation gym, and 16 common areas such as hallways and stairways by December 20.
Contrary to what has been circulating in local media in recent days—with rumors of a suspension pending the first-instance court's ruling—the Prosecutor's Office clarifies that the order has never been suspended. Today, however, it granted an extension until January 20, 2026.
The decision takes into account the imminent Christmas and New Year holidays: initiating forced operations during that period "does not seem appropriate," the investigative team explains. For now, the families are breathing a sigh of relief, but the sword of Damocles remains hanging over the future of the sector.
