A 29-year-old cook, resident in Angri, was arrested after a check by Carabinieri officers from the Castellammare di Stabia mobile radio unit. The man was stopped in Sant'Antonio Abate while driving his car and attempting to speed away when he encountered a patrol.
The unusual maneuver didn't go unnoticed by the officers, who chased and arrested him. Once stopped, the young man admitted to having hidden 100 grams of marijuana, already divided and ready for sale, under the passenger seat. The Carabinieri seized the substance and decided to continue the search of his home.
In a room, inside a vacuum-sealed green backpack, another 750 grams of marijuana were discovered, along with packaging materials and a sum of money believed to be consistent with drug dealing. The 29-year-old was arrested on charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and taken to prison, where he remains awaiting trial.
