Scisciano – A night of fire and loot on Via Ferrovia, in the heart of town. Unknown suspects blew up the ATM at the Monte dei Paschi di Siena bank with a powerful explosive charge, stealing the cash inside.
The exact amount stolen has not yet been determined. The explosion, which occurred in the early hours of the night between Saturday and Sunday, alarmed dozens of local residents. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Carabinieri officers from the Scisciano station responded immediately to the scene, supported by their colleagues from the Nola Company's Operations Unit. The investigation was entrusted to the Castello di Cisterna Group's Investigative Unit, which conducted technical surveys of the crater, the bomb fragments, and the traces left by the criminals.

Investigators are analyzing private video surveillance footage from the area and any streetlights, as well as gathering testimony from anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the hours preceding the attack.
The modus operandi—high-yield explosives and lightning-fast action in the dead of night—is clearly reminiscent of the techniques used in recent years by gangs specializing in ATM break-ins, often active in the provinces of Naples, Caserta, and Avellino.
The bank, which had been under lockdown for hours, is under seizure. The first official counts of the loot and technical assessments of the type and quantity of explosives used are expected in the coming days.
