The five Genoa fans arrested following the clashes before the match against Inter Milan remain under house arrest. Preliminary Investigations Judge Giorgio Morando confirmed the arrests made two days ago, acknowledging the seriousness of the alleged conduct but opting for a less punitive precautionary measure than prison. This decision was motivated by the real risk of repeat offenses, as the suspects are part of a group of fans previously implicated in riots and brawls.

The investigation, coordinated by Public Prosecutor Luca Scorza Azzarà and conducted by the DIGOS (Special Operations Division), reconstructed a full-blown urban warfare that erupted in Genoa on Sunday, with vehicles set on fire or damaged, bottles and firecrackers thrown at law enforcement, and fifteen officers injured. Video surveillance images, which captured the most violent moments of the clashes, were crucial for investigators.

During questioning, the arrested men admitted to being present at the scene, but attempted to downplay their role. Some expressed regret for what happened and offered to pay damages. All belong to the Marassi Group, one of the most important organizations for organized Rossoblu support.

According to investigators, the clashes were not random but the result of a planned attack, with approximately 130 Napoli ultras in Genoa, who had arrived to support the attack on Inter fans. Only the massive deployment of police and Carabinieri prevented direct contact between the two fan bases.
