In a targeted check for the holidays, financial police in Agropoli seized 93 kg of fireworks sold without a permit, an incident that raises questions about safety during a time when celebrations should be synonymous with serenity.
Agropoli – Finance police from the Agropoli Company seized over 36 fireworks, totaling approximately 93 kg of explosives, from a local business.
The inspection, conducted on December 22nd, was aimed at verifying the legal possession and sale of fireworks in preparation for the holidays. During the inspection, the Guardia di Finanza (Fiamme Gialle) officers found that the owner lacked the required public safety permit for quantities exceeding 50 kg.
Furthermore, the fireworks were displayed for sale alongside other highly flammable products, such as party games, Christmas decorations, and home accessories, violating safety regulations.
The proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation stages: the charges against the trader will be evaluated in the subsequent procedural phases.
