In Casapulla, the arrest of a 51-year-old man for crack cocaine dealing and the reporting of his supplier, already under house arrest, highlight the growing attention of law enforcement in combating a phenomenon that affects even the smallest communities, thus revealing a broader problem.
Casapulla – During the night between Monday and Tuesday, Carabinieri officers from the San Prisco station arrested a 51-year-old man from Caserta for possession and dealing of narcotics and reported his supplier, a 43-year-old man from the same city already under house arrest.
The operation began in Casapulla, on Via San Giovanni, where officers intercepted the 51-year-old immediately after he sold two doses of crack cocaine, weighing a total of 0,4 grams, to a buyer. Following the check, the Carabinieri conducted a personal search, finding €40 in cash on the man, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.
The supplier is already under house arrest
The investigations conducted by the military led to the identification of the 51-year-old's supplier: a 43-year-old man from Caserta who was already under house arrest at his home. The Carabinieri conducted a search of his home, where they found an additional 0,1 gram of crack cocaine.
The 51-year-old was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison. The 43-year-old, however, was remanded in custody for complicity in drug dealing, despite the existing restraining order.
The operation is part of the Carabinieri's broader territorial control efforts to combat drug dealing, particularly in the most critical areas of the Caserta province. The arrest of a person already known to law enforcement and the reporting of his supplier, who has already been placed under precautionary measures, confirm the military's ongoing focus on the phenomenon of dealing in hard drugs such as crack, even in small and medium-sized urban areas.
