Naples – A new drug trafficking bust in the eastern suburbs of Naples. Yesterday afternoon, officers from the San Giovanni-Barra Police Station arrested a 24-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement for previous convictions, on charges of possession with intent to sell.
During an extraordinary patrol ordered by the Police Headquarters to combat drug trafficking, the officers caught the man in Via Bernardino Martirano – an area adjacent to an elementary school – while he was selling a dose of drugs to a young man in exchange for money, from his car.
The officers intervened promptly and arrested both men. They found 13 small bags of marijuana (approximately 23 grams in total), a 3-gram package of hashish, and €800 in cash, in small denominations. The buyer had the amount he had just purchased with him and was fined for personal use.
Suspicions led to a house search: here, a relative of the arrested man attempted to throw away a bag containing four additional doses of marijuana (76 grams), a precision scale, and packaging materials. The woman was charged with the same crime. The operation is part of intensified controls by the Naples Police Headquarters to curb drug dealing in sensitive areas of the city.
