Full light has been shed on the two gunshot wounds that occurred on Christmas Eve in the heart of Pomigliano d'Arco.
The investigations conducted by the Naples Flying Squad, in collaboration with the Acerra Police Station, allowed for a precise reconstruction of the events, identifying roles, responsibilities, and the context of the incident.
Crucial to the investigation were images extracted from video surveillance systems in the area and witness statements. The investigations clarified that the two injuries—that of a six-year-old boy, born in 2018, and that of a 46-year-old man, born in 1978—were not linked to separate incidents, as initially assumed, but to a single event.

According to what has emerged, everything apparently happened on the evening of December 24th inside a commercial establishment located in Piazza Mercato, one of the busiest places in the city center.
In that context, for reasons still being investigated by investigators, the shots that injured both victims were fired, generating moments of panic among those present, especially considering the time and the high attendance due to the Christmas holidays.
The incident, which had caused widespread social alarm, especially due to the involvement of a minor, now appears to have been essentially clarified. The collected documentation has been forwarded to the judicial authorities, who will assess whether to take appropriate action against those responsible.

The investigation was crucial, but I wonder if there were other witnesses who could help us better understand the situation. This type of violence is unacceptable and should never happen.
