After a Super Cup that promised excitement, the return of Napoli fans turned into a nightmare at Capodichino, blocked by bureaucratic obstacles and safety protocols, forcing the Lega Serie A to apologize and offer compensation for a mix-up that casts a shadow over an eagerly awaited event.

Napoli – What was supposed to be a smooth flight home from the Super Cup trip to Saudi Arabia turned into a logistical nightmare for 130 fans in the early hours of this morning.

The charter flight organized by the Lega Calcio Serie A, which landed at Capodichino Airport, was stranded on the Naples runway due to bureaucratic delays, triggering a chain reaction, leaving passengers bound for Milan without an immediate escape route.

The incident arose during border police checks. While the Napoli supporters disembarked regularly, a complication related to the documentation of passengers transiting through the North held the plane up for several hours.

This prolonged standstill triggered strict workplace safety protocols: the flight crew exceeded the maximum number of continuous hours, making the eleven-hour rest period required by law mandatory before resuming the flight.

Lega Serie A expressed its "dismay" over the incident in an official statement. While emphasizing the lack of direct responsibility for the airport security checks, Via Rosellini formally apologized to the fans involved.

To make up for the damage to their reputation and the inconvenience suffered, the organizer has announced a massive compensation plan: in addition to a full refund of the expenses incurred for alternative travel, fans will be offered an annual subscription to the DAZN platform and free entry to the stadium for one of the upcoming home matches.

The incident will not go without legal consequences. The League has confirmed its intention to formally challenge the technical partners and contracted suppliers who handled the charter transportation for the poor service. This move is necessary to protect a logistics operation involving nearly 200 fans of the four finalists, which was tainted on the final leg of the return journey.
