Napoli are the first Italian Super Cup finalist. The Azzurri defeated AC Milan 2-0 after a commanding match, especially after taking a first-half lead. Conte's team struck at the right moment and then gradually snuffed out the Rossoneri's hopes, which had appeared inconsistent in the second half.
The start was lively, and in the opening minutes, Milan showed the most energy. After just five minutes, a Rabiot overhead kick turned into an assist for Loftus-Cheek, who, however, was promptly blocked by Milinkovic-Savic. Napoli responded with composure and grew as the minutes passed, coming close to scoring in the 32nd minute with a low shot from McTominay that went just wide to the right of Maignan. The Rossoneri threatened again with Rabiot and Pulisic, but lacked precision in front of goal.
The match broke the deadlock in the 39th minute when Spinazzola found Hojlund in the box. The Dane shielded the ball and fired a left-footed shot. Maignan parried it short, and David Neres was quickest to pounce on the rebound, scoring the 1-0 from close range. Before halftime, the French goalkeeper again prevented Hojlund's counterattacking left-footed strike from the break.
Napoli followed the same pattern in the second half. In the ninth minute, Rrahmani tested Maignan with a right-footed shot from the edge of the box, a prelude to the 19th-minute second. Spinazzola set up Hojlund again, who won a physical duel with De Winter and beat Maignan with a precise left-footed shot to make it 2-0. From that moment on, Milan disappeared from the pitch, and Milinkovic-Savic was left almost entirely idle.
The final chance fell to Napoli again, with McTominay wasting a counterattack by shooting high. The scoreline remained unchanged. Napoli thus secured their place in the final and now awaits their opponents, Inter and Bologna, who will battle for the other spot in the final on Monday.
