The Vitulazio case highlights a disturbing reality: a young man, unresigned to the end of a relationship, transformed love into fear, culminating in stalking that forced a woman to seek help.
Vitulazio – Carabinieri from the Vitulazio station arrested, in deferred flagrante delicto, a 23-year-old resident of Capua, believed to be responsible for stalking his ex-girlfriend.
The Carabinieri intervened following a complaint filed by the woman, a resident of Bellona, who went to the local police station to report a series of harassing and threatening behaviors she had experienced following the end of her relationship.
The relationship, which began last August and ended for trivial reasons, was apparently not accepted by the young man, who allegedly began a repeated stalking behavior.
According to the victim, the man had repeatedly threatened to kill her and insulted her with vulgar and sexist epithets, even in public places and in the presence of her minor son.
The escalation culminated the day before his arrest, when the 23-year-old allegedly contacted his ex-partner by phone from an anonymous number, making serious threats.
Shortly thereafter, according to the police's findings, he posted an image containing an explicit death threat to the woman on his WhatsApp status. This information, combined with the documentation obtained, allowed the Carabinieri to proceed with the arrest.
After completing the formal procedures, the young man was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities.

It's incredible how certain situations can escalate so brutally. It's sad to think that love can turn into fear and violence. I hope the victim can find help and support to overcome this difficult experience.
