Castellammare – This morning, Carabinieri officers from the Sorrento branch arrested a 27-year-old resident of Castellammare di Stabia. He is considered a serious suspect in aggravated robbery, along with other individuals who are still being identified.

The man was arrested pursuant to a precautionary custody order issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Torre Annunziata Court, at the request of the Oplonti Public Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the Sorrento Carabinieri Operations Unit, began with a complaint filed by a young man, the victim of a robbery on October 26, 2025, inside a nightclub in the heart of Sorrento's historic center. According to the investigative reconstruction, during the evening, the complainant was surrounded and subdued by several individuals who pushed and physically restrained him.

One of the attackers tore a valuable gold chain and pendant, estimated to be worth approximately €5.000, from his neck before fleeing. His accomplices continued to threaten and restrain the victim, preventing her from pursuing the robber.

The crucial elements for identification emerged from a thorough analysis of the images from the video surveillance systems installed both inside the premises and in the immediate vicinity. Among these, a distinctive tattoo on the neck of the alleged perpetrator represented a key clue, later confirmed by the photographic identification carried out by the victim.

The investigative efforts—which included information-investigative services and photographic identification—gathered serious evidence of guilt against the 27-year-old from Castellammare di Stabia, believed to be the actual perpetrator of the theft.

Following the formal procedures, the arrested man was taken to the prison for judicial review. Investigations are continuing to identify and arrest the accomplices who materially participated in the crime.
