On a seemingly ordinary evening, a routine check in Benevento revealed the disturbing presence of a demolition hammer in the trunk of a car, an incident that once again shines a spotlight on urban safety and the presence of potentially lethal objects in everyday life.
Benevento – A 28-year-old man from Benevento was reported by the State Police for possession of offensive objects after being found with a demolition hammer hidden in the trunk of his car. The check began overnight in Piazza Bissolati, when a patrol car stopped the vehicle.
Officers questioned the young man who was driving the car and a 22-year-old passenger, a resident of the capital and already known to law enforcement for a criminal record. During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered a demolition hammer approximately 90 centimeters long in the trunk.
The 28-year-old was unable to provide any plausible justification for his possession of the tool, which was seized. He was reported to the judicial authorities.
As part of their territorial control operations, officers from the Telese Terme Police Station arrested another person yesterday afternoon, found in possession of cocaine. The individual has been reported to the Prefecture for personal use of narcotics.

This episode makes us reflect on safety in our city, but I don't understand why a demolition hammer is considered dangerous. Perhaps we should think carefully before making judgments without knowing the full facts of the situation.
