Acerra – Four people have been arrested in Acerra on charges of attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods.

The Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna Investigative Unit and the Acerra Station executed a precautionary detention order issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Court of Naples, at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate.

According to investigators' reconstruction, between July and October 2025, the suspects repeatedly threatened a local businessman, invoking their involvement in local organized crime. The businessman was carrying out work on a preschool.

One of the four was a fugitive at the time of the threats.

The goal, according to the prosecution's theory, was to obtain sums of money in exchange for the "permission" to continue working without retaliation. One of the four was reportedly a fugitive at the time of the alleged events. This is Antonio Aloia, the boss who was hit by a new precautionary measure yesterday in the investigation into the murder of Ottavio Colalongo, killed in Scisciano last December.
