Afragola – A handful of seconds, just under fifteen, were enough to document an episode of violence and racial hatred that shook Afragola. In the video, which quickly went viral on social media, a group of young people—all under the age of fourteen—targeted a non-EU man on a bicycle, mocked him, and attacked him by throwing a plastic bin at him, amid shouts, laughter, and racist insults.
The incident occurred just meters from City Hall, in the heart of the city. The images, captured on a smartphone and distributed like a trophy, were crucial in identifying those responsible. The investigation was coordinated by the Afragola Local Police, under the direction of the force's commander, Colonel Antonio Piricelli.
The investigation was not easy: some of the minors involved were residents of neighboring municipalities. They were associated with significant social hardship and school dropouts. For this reason, in addition to identifying the children, they were reported to the social services of their respective municipalities of residence.
The parents of the minors have been reported to the judicial authorities for child abandonment. The Local Police Department announced that investigations are ongoing to determine the possible involvement of other members of the group and to reconstruct the entire sequence of events surrounding the attack.

Yes, but parents must also be held accountable. It's not just a problem for children, but also for their education. Without adequate support, these behaviors can recur.
The Afragola incident is truly disturbing; something like this cannot be tolerated. Young people should be taught respect and tolerance, not to act with violence and hatred toward others.
