The Carabinieri Forestry Corps of the Alife Unit have identified the perpetrator of urban waste dumping in an isolated agricultural area of the municipality, thanks to a targeted monitoring effort to combat illegal dumping in the area's rural, riverine, and mountainous areas.
The operation, aimed at combating uncontrolled waste dumping in the less-monitored areas of the Volturno and Agro Alifano rivers, led to the identification of a person caught unloading non-hazardous waste using a company-owned vehicle.
The person responsible was reported at large for dumping waste on the ground, and the Prefecture - Territorial Office of the Government of Caserta was notified of the suspension of his driving license, which can be suspended for one to four months according to current legislation.
The project is part of a broader plan to prevent and repress environmental crimes promoted by the Carabinieri Forestale to protect the territory and ensure legality in the rural and protected areas of Caserta.

It's important that the Carabinieri Forestale carry out this monitoring work, but I wonder if a simple report is enough to stop this phenomenon. Education and awareness among citizens regarding waste are also needed.
