Arzano – Yet another carjacking attempt has been foiled in the Horizon Shopping Center parking lot. The thieves targeted a Jeep Compass parked outside, but were chased away by the timely intervention of a mall employee, who stopped the theft before it could be completed.

According to the complainants, the thieves drove around in a black Mini Cooper and a black Fiat 500X. Footage of the incident, captured by security cameras, was forwarded to Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green and Left Alliance (Avs).

“The phenomenon of car thefts in shopping center parking lots is on a worrying rise, a real siege that is transforming family-friendly places into hunting grounds for organized gangs, often in broad daylight,” Borrelli declared.

"The isolated courage of employees, who must not risk their lives, is not enough. We need stronger controls, effective video surveillance, and a constant police presence in the most exposed areas."

It's incredible how thieves manage to operate undetected. I think the authorities should do more to prevent these incidents; security must be a priority in parking lots.

This article highlights a situation that is truly worrying for all of us who go shopping. Car thefts have increased, and this is not normal. A quick solution is needed to protect citizens.
