Bruno Petrone is back to breathing football, from the place he belongs most: the stadium. Less than two weeks after the stabbing in Chiaia on Boxing Day, and after being released from the hospital a few hours ago, the young player wanted to be present in the stands at the "Novi" stadium to watch his Angri side in the Eccellenza match against Montemiletto.
He wasn't alone: his mother, Dorotea, and his aunt were with him. Their presence transformed the championship Sunday into a moment of emotion, filled with applause, encouragement, and the relief of seeing him out of his hospital bed, still exhausted but determined.
In front of the cameras of TGR Campania, Angri president Claudio Anelluccio emphasized the boy's strength and bond with the club: "Bruno is strong on the pitch, but he's proven to be even stronger inside. Recovering like this in ten or twelve days wasn't easy. He already has a contract ready for next year; he's like a son to us."
The mother doesn't hide her emotion, but above all, she asks that what happened not be forgotten. "The emotion is so great," says Dorotea. "Such a tragic moment was beautiful in its own way because there was so much love. Bruno is fine now; he was a fighter. At home he's already pushing and saying he wants to go play. That's his only thought.
We demand justice,” she concludes. “It’s unthinkable that five people like this could take your child’s life away. In an instant, for a trivial matter. I wish other parents would also take responsibility for what happened. I was lucky; Bruno is with me. There have been many midwives who, unfortunately, no longer have their children.”
The attack, which occurred in the Chiaia neighborhood on the night of December 26, shocked not only the sports community but the entire community. In the hours that followed, law enforcement arrested the alleged perpetrators: a crucial investigative step that must now be confirmed in the legal process, while the family is demanding that the case be brought to its conclusion without compromise.
Meanwhile, Bruno is starting over with a simple yet powerful gesture: returning to the team. Silently, from the stands, but with the gaze of someone who wants to return to normality and, as soon as possible, the pitch.

It's great to see Bruno back at the stadium, but it's sad to think about what happened. Justice must be done, and no one should have to go through something so horrible. His strength is an inspiration to everyone.
