Istanbul is once again in the spotlight due to a drug investigation that, according to several Turkish media reports, has also implicated an internationally known face: Can Yaman.

The actor, beloved in Italy for his hit TV series and recent projects, has reportedly been arrested in the past few hours as part of an investigation aimed at shedding light on drug dealing and consumption in circles frequented by celebrities, journalists, and VIPs in the Bosphorus metropolis.

According to reports reprinted by the local press, Yaman was arrested along with six other people. Among the names circulating is that of actress Selen Görgüzel.

At this time, in the absence of a full statement from the authorities with detailed charges, the matter remains dependent on information published by the Turkish media and the investigative developments expected in the coming hours.

Forensic tests after the arrests

A key step in the investigation concerns the medical examinations. The seven detainees, Turkish media reported, were taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine to undergo tests to determine whether drugs were taken, what substances, and over what period of time.

This could impact the reconstruction of the evening, the places frequented, and any potential disputes: the next steps in the investigation would depend, at least in part, on the results of the tests.

Nightclub raids: Nine nightclubs raided

According to local media reports, the night was marked by a series of raids at various nightlife hotspots. Police raided nine Istanbul nightclubs, arresting suspected drug dealers and detaining managers of venues identified as places where drugs were being sold.

In recent weeks, more than twenty celebrities, journalists, and other prominent figures in entertainment have reportedly been targeted in the same investigative thread: a list that is fueling daily outcry and tension among Turkish public opinion.

The raid in Maslak and the search at the Bebek Hotel

Among the most extensive operations described was the one at Klein Phönix, a club in Maslak. According to the reconstruction published in the Turkish press, approximately one hundred narcotics squad officers raided the premises simultaneously, securing entrances and exits and conducting checks and searches inside.

Another iconic location targeted is the Bebek Hotel, a luxury property in the Beşiktaş district, believed to be a frequent destination for celebrities. Gendarmerie teams reportedly searched the hotel as part of an investigation coordinated by the Istanbul General Prosecutor's Office, with the assistance of drug-sniffing dogs.

Nearly 200 gendarmes and the "casino house" hypothesis

According to reports, the operation at the Bebek Hotel involved approximately 200 gendarmes, with a search lasting approximately three hours and the use of six drug-sniffing dogs. All rooms and areas of the hotel were checked.

In the hotel's context, local press reports highlight the arrest of owner Muzaffer Yıldırım and raise a further theory attributed to the Sabah newspaper: that he had converted his residence into a casino. According to the same source, during a raid, several people present (a croupier, an assistant, and a cleaning lady) were caught attempting to destroy possible evidence.

What we know so far

According to Turkish media, Can Yaman (36) was arrested in Istanbul in a drug investigation linked to clubs frequented by celebrities.

Seven people have been arrested in total; among the names circulating is that of actress Selen Görgüzel.

Turkish press reports that those arrested were tested at the Institute of Forensic Medicine to determine whether they had taken drugs.

During the night, raids were carried out in 9 nightclubs, resulting in the arrest of suspected pushers and the detention of club managers.

Among the places searched were the Klein Phönix club (Maslak) and the Bebek Hotel (Beşiktaş), with the use of drug-sniffing dogs and a massive deployment of forces.

The Sabah newspaper reports the arrest of the owner of the Bebek Hotel and the hypothesis that a private residence had been transformed into a casino (information to be verified with official sources).

I read the article and I think it's all very confusing. There are too many people involved and we're not sure who's guilty and who's not. It's difficult to form an opinion without clear details.

I don't understand how something like this could happen in such a famous hotel. But ultimately, if they're truly guilty, they should pay for their mistakes. Let's hope the truth comes out soon.

This article contains a lot of information about the situation of Can Yaman and the other arrests. It's important to know what's happening, but also to have concrete evidence before making judgments. The idea of a casino is very strange.
