The signing of the protocol between the Province of Caserta and the Italian Swimming Federation marks a crucial moment in the rebirth of the Stadio del Nuoto, a facility long closed, now ready to return to the center of the community's sporting and social life.
CASERTA – A turning point for the Caserta Swimming Stadium: this morning in Rome, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Province of Caserta and the Italian Swimming Federation, marking the concrete start of the redevelopment of the facility on Via Laviano. The agreement, signed by Provincial President Anacleto Colombiano and FIN President Paolo Barelli, provides specialized technical support for analyzing the facility's condition, defining design solutions compliant with FIN and CONI technical standards, and assistance in planning renovation and upgrade projects.
The 24-month agreement will also allow for the evaluation of the most suitable management methods to ensure continuity, development, and enhancement of swimming activities, both grassroots and competitive. "With this agreement," Colombiano explained, "we are taking a decisive step toward restoring a space for sport, socializing, and growth to the community. Collaboration with the Federation will allow us to ensure the quality of the design, safety, and full functionality of the facility."
FIN President Paolo Barelli emphasized the Federation's commitment to assisting the Province, providing experts and technicians to assess the design and operational needs and return the pool to the community as quickly as possible. The Swimming Stadium, closed when Colombiano took office, will now begin preparatory work for the renovation, including laboratory testing of materials and the completion of the technical and economic feasibility study.

That's true, but there are many things to consider. We also need to determine whether there will be sufficient funding to carry the project forward and whether management will be effective in the long term.
The signed agreement is good news for the Caserta community, but we hope work begins soon and there are no delays. The pool is vital for everyone, especially young people.
