Castellammare di Stabia – No fans will be allowed in the stadium for the match between Juve Stabia and Virtus Entella. The Serie B match, scheduled for Saturday, January 24, at 2:00 PM at the Romeo Menti Stadium in Castellammare di Stabia, will be played behind closed doors. This was ordered by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari.

The decision follows an assessment of the high risk to public order and safety. The measure follows the decisions made by the Provincial Committee for the Analysis of Sports Event Safety, which met on January 20, and complies with the proposal put forward by the Naples Police Headquarters.

According to the Naples Prefecture, security authorities have highlighted specific critical issues related to the match, deeming the extreme measure of excluding spectators necessary to ensure the match can be held in maximum safety. The order, which is preventive in nature, does not refer to specific previous incidents, but rather to an analysis of the potential risk.

Juve Stabia and Virtus Entella, as well as the Serie B league, have been officially informed of the decision. For fans, both home and away, this means the cancellation of the away match and no ticket sales. The match will be available exclusively on television, through channels that broadcast the Serie B championship.

The "Romeo Menti" stadium will therefore be silent and empty, a scenario that has unfortunately become commonplace in Italian football when authorities, as a precaution, deem the presence of spectators to pose a risk. The final say, as often happens in these cases, now rests with the pitch.

I don't understand why fans can't go to the stadium. It's a strange decision, and it seems to me that the organizers didn't consider the fact that people love supporting their teams even in risky situations.
