Naples – The Montesanto station on Metro Line 2 will close for three months starting January 25. Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (FS Group) will begin upgrades and maintenance work as part of the redevelopment program for Campania's main stations, aimed at raising standards of quality, sustainability, and comfort for travelers.

To ensure the construction site remains fully operational, the station will be closed to passenger service until April 24. Commuters will be able to use the nearby stations along Line 2 as an alternative for their daily commute.

The first phase of work involves the complete replacement of the escalators and the restyling of the fixed stairs, with the aim of improving accessibility and safety. Subsequently, the passenger building will be renovated, for a complete modernization that will make the station more functional and welcoming.

The project, part of a plan that will be completed by 2026, is financed with NRRP funds and requires a total investment of more than 5 million euros.

The closure of the Montesanto station for three months is a significant event, but I hope the work is done well and within a reasonable timeframe. Commuters need good alternatives and shouldn't suffer too much.
