Human remains were found by the Carabinieri during the search for Federica Torzullo, 41, who disappeared in Anguillara Sabazia (Rome) on January 8th. The discovery was made at the company headquarters of her husband, Claudio Carlomagno, the man who had filed a missing person report in recent days and is already under investigation.

According to initial reports, only part of the body has been recovered. Investigations are ongoing to definitively establish the identity of the remains and reconstruct what happened in the hours leading up to the woman's disappearance.

The murder case and the suspicions about the husband

The Civitavecchia Prosecutor's Office recently opened a homicide case into the disappearance of Federica Torzullo, delegating the investigation to the Carabinieri. Yesterday, the same Prosecutor's Office, led by Alberto Liguori, released a statement reporting that the technical tests ordered had led to a "copious finding of blood traces."

According to what was communicated by the investigators, the initial elements collected, "due to their seriousness, precision and consistency", would have exceeded "the threshold of serious circumstantial evidence" against Carlomagno.

Traces of blood: house, car, quarry and company vehicles

The investigative activities of the military of the Anguillara Sabazia Station and the Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri of Ostia, with the support of the RIS of Rome, allowed the identification of blood traces in several places and on several media considered relevant:

inside the spouses' home

on men's work clothes

inside the car used by the husband

in a quarry

on a mechanical means present in the family business

A picture that, even before this morning's discovery, had oriented the investigation towards a crime hypothesis and the possible concealment of the body.

Today's turning point

This morning, Sunday, January 18, during further investigations in the company area linked to the man, the Carabinieri found human remains. Forensic examinations and scientific tests will determine whether the remains are those of Federica Torzullo and determine the cause and manner of death.

The investigation remains open: investigators are working to reconstruct the movements, determine timing and responsibilities, and verify the connection between the blood traces found and today's discovery.

It's truly sad to hear this news, but it's important that the authorities do their job and find answers. Human life is precious and deserves respect in every situation.

I honestly find this story very tragic and disturbing. It's hard to understand how such situations can happen in a community. I hope the investigations lead to a clear truth and justice for Federica.
