Naples – The Guardia di Finanza has carried out a new and more significant seizure against the company that manages the Napolitano Store stores, which sells household appliances and smartphones between Naples and Casalnuovo.

The Financial and Economic Police have placed under lockdown the entire business assets of Angelo Napolitano, a highly active TikTok user known for his friendship with Rita De Crescenzo, by order of the Nola investigating judge and at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, effectively blocking all commercial activity.

This is a further development in the investigation that, on September 17, led to a massive seizure of €5,7 million, including a 16,5-meter yacht. This order was later confirmed by the Court of Review. According to investigators, despite that initial intervention, the company continued to operate the same fraudulent scheme.

At the heart of the investigation is a systematic VAT fraud, carried out through the issuance of invoices for non-existent transactions to "shell" companies, with no employees or real operations, used to evade taxes and reduce the tax burden. This allowed the company to market large quantities of latest-generation smartphones, sold "illegally" at prices significantly lower than the official ones.

According to the Finance Police's findings, customers were required to pay in cash and received a sort of "bill" with no fiscal value, very similar to a receipt. The document, produced with internal management software, did, however, contain the device's IMEI code, allowing the company to justify the removal of goods from the warehouse, monitor sales, and ensure any replacements.

The company, highly active on social media with aggressive daily communication, has seen growth in recent years that investigators consider exponential and anomalous: its turnover has increased from €2,2 million in 2017 to €20,8 million in 2023.

The company's owner, Angelo Napolitano, had already come under the spotlight for his appearance in a video filmed on August 8th of last year inside the Campania Regional Council with TikToker Rita De Crescenzo, in the office of then-councilor Pasquale Di Fenza. The video featured a display of the Italian flag and the Italian national anthem playing in the background.

In this new phase of the investigation, the investigating judge has not ordered the appointment of a judicial administrator. The two stores have been entrusted to custodians charged with surveillance, in order to prevent the theft of the goods. Sales activities are completely suspended, and the shops in Naples and Casalnuovo remain closed to the public.
