Naples – A drug shipment arriving from Spain, destined for the Neapolitan market, was intercepted by the State Police, who arrested three men, aged 31, 39, and 52, all Neapolitans and already known to law enforcement.
The operation began yesterday following an investigative effort conducted by the Flying Squad, who had identified a shipping company warehouse in the city's eastern district as the drug delivery point.
During the observation, officers observed the three suspects arriving at the scene in three different vehicles and engaging in suspicious conversations. A search was initiated immediately.
43 kilograms of marijuana from Spain seized
The 52-year-old was found in possession of the transport documentation for a 300-kilogram package from Spain and a key. Inside his car, 41 bags of marijuana weighing approximately 43 kilograms were found.
The police seized 8.800 euros from the 39-year-old and 1.500 euros from the 31-year-old, in cash and banknotes of various denominations, from the other two men.
The search then continued inside the warehouse, where a vending machine with Spanish writing was located on a wooden platform. Another portion of the drug was hidden inside.
Following the investigation, the three men were arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing and taken to the attention of the judicial authorities.
