Naples – The eerie silence that had enveloped the streets of Ponticelli in recent months was shattered by the sharp crack of bullets. At the start of 2026, the apparent truce that raised hopes of a forced pacification proved to be what it was: a technical pause to reorganize the ranks.
Last night, blood returned to soak the asphalt of East Naples, bringing back the specter of the decades-long feud between the "Bodo" and the "Fraulella" families.
It was just after evening when Roberto Nambuletto, 23, with a criminal record already marked by property crimes, presented himself at the emergency room of Villa Betania Hospital. The bullet, which struck him in the right calf, did not damage any vital arteries, allowing him to be discharged a few hours later.
To the Carabinieri who questioned him, Nambuletto offered the usual, sparse version of events: "I was on Viale Califano with a friend, I heard gunshots and then a burning sensation in my leg." No details about the group, no faces, no license plates. The wall of silence is already up.
The connection with the De Miccos
Despite his lack of prior criminal record for mafia association, Nambuletto's profile is a hot one. Investigative circles identify him as someone very close to the De Micco clan's top brass, the so-called "Bodos." And it's precisely here that the investigation widens: targeting Nambuletto would send a direct message to the regents of Via Santa Maria del Pozzo.
While initial hypotheses pointed to the De Luca Bossa-Minichini cartel, in the last few hours Anti-Mafia analysts have decisively shifted their focus toward a resumption of hostilities with the D'Amicos, the historic gang from the Conocal district.
The rivalry between the De Miccos and the D'Amicos has never truly subsided; it is a generational conflict, made of blood and cross-revenge, which has periodically bloodied the eastern suburbs since 2012.
This "warning" wound could be the prelude to a new season of violence. A bullet to the leg, in the Camorra's grammar, is almost never a misdirection, but rather an eviction order or an ultimatum. If the D'Amicos have decided to rise up again to reclaim the drug dealing areas seized by the "Bodos," East Naples is preparing for a very hot winter.
