Naples – A hood pulled down over his face and a wary stance that didn't escape the trained eyes of the officers. Thus ended the escape of a young man born in 2006, arrested during extraordinary checks by the "Stazioni Sicure" service, between the arcades of Piazza Garibaldi and the tracks of Napoli Centrale.

The young man, just nineteen years old, was actively sought throughout Italy. A custody order issued by the Court of Sondrio was pending against him: he is considered seriously suspected of serious crimes, such as attempted extortion and aggravated robbery.

The arrest was made in recent days, when a patrol from the Campania Railway Police Department noticed the young man lurking suspiciously among passersby. Upon seeing the uniforms, the 19-year-old attempted a sudden move to evade the patrol and blend in with the crowd of travelers. The attempt was futile: the officers promptly caught up with him and arrested him before he could disappear.

After the usual checks and confirmation of his identity, the young man was taken to Naples Poggioreale prison, where he was taken to the attention of the competent judicial authorities.

As required by current legislation, please note that the order executed is a precautionary measure issued during the preliminary investigation. The suspect is therefore presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued.

This young man's arrest makes me think about how difficult it is for young people to grow up in a society so under pressure. However, laws are laws and must be followed. Let's hope he can right his wrongs.
