Salerno – A theft quickly escalated into blackmail, ultimately resulting in extortion. It happened overnight in Salerno, where a foreign man, identified only by the initials OL, was arrested by Carabinieri from the local branch.
After stealing a smartphone and a pack of cigarettes, the young man threatened the victim, demanding money in exchange for the return of the stolen goods. The victim, however, refused to give up and immediately called 112.
At the scene, in the central Piazza della Concordia, the Carabinieri officers responded quickly, quickly identifying and apprehending the criminal. The man is now in custody and is being held by the judicial authorities.
