They attempted to rob a store and fled, but were tracked down within minutes and arrested. This is what happened in Salerno, where the State Police arrested two men accused of aggravated theft in concert against a business in the eastern part of the city.

The operation was triggered after a report reached the Police Headquarters operations room indicating the presence of two suspicious individuals inside the "Scarpe e Scarpe" store. Police from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, dispatched immediately to the scene, determined that the two had already passed through the anti-theft barriers, which had been activated as they passed.

The suspects were located in the immediate vicinity of the shop and found in possession of clothing items worth approximately €100, which were later returned to their rightful owners. After obtaining a report from the business owner, the two were taken to the Police Headquarters for routine checks.

The two men are a 21-year-old Tunisian citizen and a 31-year-old Moroccan citizen, both already known to law enforcement. By order of the public prosecutor on duty, the two men were held in custody at the Salerno Police Headquarters, pending their appearance before a judge for the summary hearing. At the same time, the Immigration Office was activated to verify their legal status in Italy.
