Antonio Vergara fulfilled every Neapolitan's dream by making his debut as a starter at the Maradona stadium, an experience he described as "a unique emotion," despite the fatigue he felt in the 60th minute.

"I didn't expect to start, it was a surprise." Antonio Vergara enjoyed his Serie A debut for Napoli after the 1-0 win against Sassuolo. It was a special debut, coming in front of the Maradona crowd, which for the 2003-born player meant more than just the result.

"As a Neapolitan, playing at the Maradona is a unique feeling," the striker told DAZN, still visibly emotional about his first start. It was a decision that matured over the course of the week, as Vergara himself explained: "The coach tested me in training and then at the hotel he told me to stay calm and play my best."

The match, however, wasn't easy physically. "By the 60th minute, I was exhausted," he admitted bluntly, then expanded on the team's overall condition: "We were a bit tired, and I felt the strain a lot, too."

Despite this, the debut remains a fundamental step in the young striker's journey, as he closed his first start with a victory and the knowledge that it was a night he won't easily forget.

It was a very important event for Antonio and for all of us fans. Playing at the Maradona must be an incredible feeling, but I hope he continues to improve and show his worth on the pitch. Despite the fatigue, he did well.
