They opened a trail in the middle of a protected area, in a fragile territory classified as high-risk for landslides, without any authorization. For this reason, two people were reported by the Carabinieri of the Marzano di Nola Forestry Unit following an inspection carried out in Moschiano, in the province of Avellino, within the "Monti di Lauro" Site of Community Interest.

According to the military's findings, the landowner and the owner of an excavator constructed a dirt track approximately 150 meters long, operating in an area subject to hydrogeological and environmental restrictions. This is a sensitive area, already marked by geomorphological hazards, where any modification to the soil can increase the risk of landslides and instability.

During their inspection, the Forestry Commission noted the lack of the necessary landscape and hydrogeological permits. The two were thus reported to the Avellino Public Prosecutor's Office, charged with destruction or defacement of natural beauty and illegal construction in a protected area.

The entire area affected by the work has been placed under sequestration, along with the excavator used to build the runway. This measure aims to halt further land transformation and protect an area of particular environmental value, already exposed to serious hydrogeological problems.

I agree, this is truly a worrying situation. These actions could have serious consequences for the environment and the safety of people living nearby. More attention is needed.

It's incredible how they can carry out work without permits in such sensitive areas. I don't understand why the authorities don't monitor activities better, especially in places at risk of landslides and landslides.
