Naples – Yesterday evening, the State Police arrested a 25-year-old Egyptian man, an illegal immigrant and already known to law enforcement, on charges of assault and resisting a public official.
The incident occurred in Piazza Enrico De Nicola, where officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, engaged in a territorial control operation, noticed the young man who, upon seeing the patrol, attempted to run away in an attempt to evade control.
When approached by police, the 25-year-old resisted violently, resulting in a scuffle. The man was eventually subdued, thanks in part to the intervention of officers from the Vasto-Arenaccia and Poggioreale police stations, and taken into custody.

This isn't the first time similar situations have occurred in Naples. The police are doing their job, but many people don't respect the law, and this leads to complicated situations. We hope security can be improved.
