New Year's Eve turned into a nightmare for a woman from the Salerno area, who was attacked by her ex-partner inside her home. A 47-year-old man, resident in Moio della Civitella, was arrested by the Carabinieri pursuant to a house arrest warrant issued by the Vallo di Lucania judicial authorities.
According to investigators' reconstruction, the incident occurred on the night of December 31st, when officers responded to the couple's home following a call for help. On that occasion, a pattern of violence emerged: the man physically attacked the woman, going so far as to squeeze her hands around her neck, and then took her cell phone.
The investigations launched after the intervention of the Carabinieri have led to the identification of serious criminal charges against the 47-year-old, who is now under investigation for mistreatment of family members and cohabitants, aggravated assault, and attempted robbery. In light of the evidence gathered, the Prosecutor's Office requested and obtained from the judge the application of the precautionary measure of house arrest. This measure aims to protect the victim and interrupt a situation deemed particularly dangerous.
