From social services placement to pre-trial detention in prison. This is the judicial process that has led to the remand of two men, aged 36 and 38, arrested by the Carabinieri of the Sant'Antimo station, pursuant to an order issued by the Surveillance Office of the Court of Naples. The two were already subject to alternative measures, but this was revoked following a new and serious incident of violence.
The measure stems from an investigation launched by the Carabinieri following a complaint filed by a 34-year-old man, the victim of an assault that occurred on the night of January 4th and 5th inside the Sant'Antimo municipal park. This incident immediately triggered an investigation and led the judicial authorities to deem it incompatible with the two suspects' continued detention under alternative measures.
In light of the evidence gathered, the Court of Naples ordered the probation to be replaced with pre-trial detention. The Carabinieri then executed the order, taking the two men to a penitentiary facility, where they will remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
