It was a night of terror in Naples, where a 29-year-old man was shot in the head and survived by pure chance. The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Via Amerigo Vespucci, in the eastern part of the city.
According to initial reconstructions, the young man was riding in a car with another person when a scooter pulled up alongside. At that point, several gunshots were reportedly fired: one of the bullets struck the 29-year-old in the head, but did not fully penetrate the skull.
After the alarm was raised, the injured man was rescued and rushed to the Vecchio Pellegrini Hospital, where he underwent surgery. His condition is not critical and his life is not thought to be in danger.
The Naples Police Headquarters' Flying Squad is investigating the case and is verifying every detail, starting with the victim's account: the 29-year-old reported being the victim of a robbery. This version, however, is now being examined by investigators. The young man also appears to have several criminal records.
