At the Madrearte Theater in Villaricca, Molière's classic "Les Precious Ridicules" returns to the stage, performed by the Teatrogene company, composed of students from the school and directed by Giovanni Meola. The performance, running from January 30th to February 1st, highlights the surprising relevance of the 17th-century text, which observes society's vices and vanities with irony and merciless clarity.

The staging is a veritable play within a play: the two young, lower-middle-class cousins cruelly reject two suitors chosen by their father and uncle, creating a refined and comical deception. But alongside the situational comedy, the work also depicts the company's internal tensions, balancing artistic demands with the daily dynamics of a complex and demanding profession like theater.

"We chose the school's most mature students," explains Meola, "so that they could tackle both the comedic challenge and the meta-theatrical level, also working on the animality of the characters to make them alive and authentic." The initiative, spearheaded by Madrearte director Antonio Diana, represents a qualitative leap for local theater education, combining classical heritage with the concreteness of the daily work of emerging actors.

On stage, alongside the protagonists, Daniela Brosio, Daniela Totano, Cosimo Mino Seguino, Rita Iodice, Mimì Vasto and Antonella Ciccarelli, with the assistance of the young Francesco Pio Vitale, in a project that combines passion, talent and rigorous artistic preparation.

The Villaricca theater is very interesting, but I don't know if the choice of younger actors was right. Molière is a complex author, and I hope audiences will appreciate his works. It will be a pleasure to see.
