The Caserta State Police arrested a young man born in 2005 and reported a minor, both originally from the province of Naples, at large, accused of aggravated fraud against an elderly woman.
The arrest occurred during a check by the Caserta Nord Highway Police in the Marcianise area, following a report of a car believed to be involved in scams targeting elderly people.
There were two people on board the vehicle who, according to investigators, appeared nervous and suspicious. The officers then further investigated with a search, finding several gold and silver jewelry.

An 80-year-old resident of Rosciano, in the province of Pescara, the victim was allegedly contacted by phone using the "fake nephew" method: a man, posing as a family member, allegedly told her about a problem involving his son and the need to hand over money to "avoid" consequences, even suggesting he be detained by the Carabinieri.

The 20-year-old was arrested for aggravated fraud and held pending prosecution. The alleged minor accomplice was reported at large to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court.
