Attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods: this is the charge brought against a 57-year-old Neapolitan man with a criminal record, arrested yesterday afternoon by State Police in Casavatore.
According to investigators from the Flying Squad and the Afragola Police Station, the man had approached the manager of a construction site, who was renovating a house, in recent days, demanding payment.
After the complaint was filed, officers set up a surveillance station. The 57-year-old returned to the construction site and renewed the extortion demand, but at that point the police intervened, stopping him and arresting him.
The man was taken into custody and handed over to the competent judicial authority.

This news is very strange and makes me think about how people can end up doing such bad things. The crime rate in some areas seems to be getting worse, and I hope the authorities do something to stop it.
