Naples – Fear and miles of traffic jams on the A56 Naples ring road this morning. At approximately 12:00 noon, the traffic jams caused by a bus engulfed in flames were finally resolved: the vehicle was extinguished and towed from km 15.6, between the Vomero and Capodimonte exits on the A1 Milan-Naples motorway.
The accident and the rapid intervention
The alarm was raised around noon when the bus suddenly caught fire, blocking traffic and causing disruption to hundreds of motorists. Fortunately, no one was injured, neither passengers nor driver.
The firefighters, who intervened promptly together with the Highway Police, quickly put out the flames, preventing them from spreading.
The bus, now removed from the road, has allowed traffic to flow normally: currently, traffic is flowing in all available lanes towards the A1, with no further delays reported.
The Naples ring road, known for its daily traffic peaks, frequently experiences similar incidents due to mechanical failures or overheating, especially during peak holiday periods. Anas monitored the situation in real time, confirming that traffic has returned to normal.

Yesterday morning I saw a lot of traffic on the ring road, and I didn't understand why. Then I heard about the bus that was on fire, but luckily no one was hurt. I hope it doesn't happen again.
