Mirabella Eclano – A start to the year marked by checks to ensure public safety. As part of the extraordinary operations ordered by the Prefect of Avellino, the Carabinieri of the Mirabella Eclano Company carried out a series of significant operations in the area on Epiphany Day, involving road traffic, public establishments, and investigations into recent crimes.

At the heart of the operation, roadblocks led to the inspection of approximately 100 vehicles and the immediate revocation of four driving licenses. Among those fined, two stand out: a young man living in Mirabella Eclano, found in possession of hashish and subsequently reported to the Prefecture as a drug user; and a twenty-year-old from Taurasi, involved in a traffic accident in the early hours of the morning, who tested positive on a breathalyzer test. The latter, in addition to the revocation of his driving license, was issued an administrative fine of approximately €2,000.

The day's operations didn't stop at the streets. Two public establishments were inspected and, most importantly, an investigation into a violent, trivial assault that occurred in Montefalcione in late December was closed. The officers identified and reported the alleged perpetrator at large, suspecting him of multiple crimes.

Carabinieri operations took another significant turn on New Year's Eve. In Santa Paolina, personnel from the Montefusco Station and the Mirabella Eclano Operations Unit seized an unidentified blank-firing pistol and its ammunition, illegally held by a man already known to law enforcement. The individual has been charged with illegal possession of a weapon. Investigators are now investigating whether the weapon was used in any criminal activity.

The overall effort confirms the force's commitment to ensuring territorial control and prevention, with particular attention to key gathering places, including during the recently concluded holiday season.

It's interesting that the Carabinieri are conducting checks for public safety, but it's unclear whether these operations are sufficient to stop crime. People need to feel safe, but the solutions must be more effective.

How did heroin arrive in Italy?
Operation Blue Moon – State Heroin – 1970 –
It was the police who introduced heroin into Italy by distributing it to young people between the ages of 14 and 18, with the cover of journalists.
The goal was to create chaos to stop youth protests.
Giancarlo Servolini, a Carabiniere and head of the Anti-Drug Unit, colluded with journalists to trumpet the affair with lies, making people believe what, essentially, the masses now regard as the truth. That is, a lie perpetuated for years. Ruining thousands of families. Terrorizing them. Smearing them. Plunging them into despair. Impoverishing them financially and psychologically.
